Do I need a special razor to use the GoateeSaver?

No, you can use the same razor that you would normally use to shave your face. Obviously you will want to use a good quality razor for the best results. Just apply shaving cream to your face, insert the GoateeSaver mouthpiece into your mouth, and shave.

What is the GoateeSaver made of?

The GoateeSaver is primarily made of a durable plastic for long lasting usage. It has chrome plated turnbuckles with screws to hold them securely in place.

There is a 1/8 inch gap from where the end of the razor blade holder ends and where the actual blade begins. This is not a problem because this event will occur on both sides of the face still keeping the goatee even on both sides.

If this is the first time to use the GoateeSaver, then it is best to use a goatee trimmer to trim your goatee as short as possible. This will allow for an easier shave the first time you use the GoateeSaver to get your goatee even. After your first time, you do not need to trim your goatee unless you desire to wear your goatee shorter.
